For where life takes you

A bag that opens into a desk.

Work used to have an address. A desk, a chair, a lamp you never had to think about. Then life started moving, and the work came along with it.

Every bag you have owned was made for the commute, not for the hours after you arrive. So you improvise. Laptop on your knees, papers on the seat beside you, a mouse balanced on the armrest.

The improvising piles up.
Slowly at first. Then all at once.

A hand-drawn laptop, its cables tangled

You are doing everything right. Answering mail from the departure lounge, finishing the deck in a hotel lobby, signing off a contract on a train table that will not stay level. You carry four pouches, two chargers and a laptop stand you never set up because it takes too long. Somewhere along the way, working well and working anywhere turned into two different things. And you started to believe you had to pick one.

What if you didn’t have to pick?

Then, Something Opens Not A Bag. Not A Desk. Both, Wherever You Land

You stop working around your space. Your space starts working around you.

A laptop riser that folds up out of the lining. A mouse pad that swings out from the side. A pocket for papers and a loop for your pen.

Open it and you are set up. Close it and you are gone.

Under the leather sits a rigid shell, so the laptop travels in a frame rather than a sack. These are the numbers from the working drawing.
